Ballarat's Rebellion Brewing are pioneers of gluten-free brewing in Australia, having launched the O'Brien range of beers to market in 2005. 

If you'd like to push that beer into more venues and bottleshops across the country, they're hiring a national sales leader.


Job Description: National Sales Leader

From the time he started brewing in his backyard back in 2003, John O'Brien has strived for the perfect gluten-free beer. Beer that could be enjoyed by everyone, free from the negative effects of barley and wheat.

Our Ballarat-based brewery produces seven different beers, all made from locally grown and malted ancient grains like sorghum and millet. Over 50 local and international awards are clear validation, culminating in six Gold Medals at the recent 2021 AIBAs and retaining the title of “Australia’s most awarded gluten-free beer”.

Sold in over 2300+ outlets and venues Australia-wide, O'Brien beer requires capital to grow our business and take advantage of the explosive growth of the gluten-free and 'better for you' markets.  Our mad scientist founder is also working on some exciting new category changing products that will require new path to market expertise.  We would love you to join us for the ride.

Based in Greater Sydney, but covering Victoria and Queensland markets, your focus will be on rapidly growing the wholesale business for both on-premise and off-premise. As a senior operator who loves the craft beer industry, you'll be expected to bring those special ingredients for success, including a solid network that you can leverage to help build O’Brien distribution, to existing products and exciting new category SKUs.

Not only will you be formulating winning sales strategies, you will also be laying the foundations for a representative sales team with your authentic collaborative leadership style. You are a hands-on leader who rolls up their sleeves, is strategic and who will work cohesively with the team you will help build. 

It is essential that you come with knowledge and experience working with wholesale retailers and venue operators in the FMCG space.  Your ability to grow and nurture relationships with key players will see you always track one step ahead of the competition.  Existing relationships with Coles, Endeavour, 100 Proof and ALM will be highly regarded, along with razor-sharp negotiation skills.

We are a down to earth team who values hard work, authenticity and a “can-do” attitude. You will have the ability to work autonomously but with the support of the Directors and the brewery team.
