BrewCon might have fallen by the wayside once more, but the Independent Brewers Association's annual awards, The Indies, are going ahead.

And that means the IBA is after volunteers to fill a number of roles when the judging takes place in Brisbane.

They are after people to help out with setup and pack-down from September 28 to October 1, and a competition team for September 29 and 30.

The competition team helps with the delivery of beer during the judging process and adds value the integrity of the competition. Full and half-day shifts are available with a preference for volunteers who can commit to the full two days of competition.

You can find out more about the roles and apply here.

THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING

  • An IBA t-shirt
  • A box of randomised competition beer for each 5 hour shift
  • Beer and industry knowledge
  • Engagement with Industry members and networking opportunities
  • Hands-on understanding of the judging process
  • Lunch and refreshments each day

WHAT'S EXPECTED

  • A team attitude, positivity, professionalism, process-driven and able to take instructions from the operations team
  • High level of ethical conduct at all times
  • Attention to detail
  • We want you to enjoy yourself and embrace the opportunity to be part of an amazing experience
  • Ideally availability for both judging days (if able).
  • Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over.

* Please note: If you are currently affiliated with a brewery entering the competition, you will not be able to volunteer as a steward, but you are able to volunteer in the staging area.
