We’re a Living Wage employer, a Carbon Zero business and we’re a team of fun-loving, dedicated and hardworking crew who aspire to be leaders, never followers, in our industry. We’ve grown from humble beginnings to now a team of 80+ across NZ and Australia and we have some exciting adventures ahead of us.

Whilst Wellington is home, we continue to see huge growth in Australia and have established our presence in the market. There’s a strong potential to continue to build the GP name in Australia; so we’re now seeking another experienced, sociable and hard-working sales professional to develop and nurture relationships with our various customers across New South Wales.

About the role

We’re looking for a Relationship Manager to build upon existing relationships but also to grow & develop new ones across a broad territory that includes Sydney’s CBD, Inner West along with Newcastle and Regional NSW. The RM will do this by providing a varied mix of account management and new business development in the craft beer market, across multiple channels of the hospitality industry and retail venues.

This is a full-time, salaried position and will involve regular travel. You will be a champion for Garage Project through knowing our world-famous beers and flying the flag for our beers and wine in NSW. We don’t work on KPIs, but we do collaborate to achieve team targets.  We value the relationship with our customers and are confident with the beers and wines we produce so we let these speak for themselves. You will be the face of Garage Project - all in the quest to bring beer to the people that love to drink it.

  • Reporting directly to the Australia Relationship Manager, you will craft and execute the sales strategy for your territory, taking into account geographical and channel goals, balancing this with supply;
  • You will develop new relationships by seeking out key bars, restaurants and retail outlets to approach in line with the agreed sales strategy;
  • You will work as a first point of contact for customer interactions, including giving info on range and adding value before handing over to the Logistics Coordinator for distribution;
  • You will champion our beers by ensuring a deep knowledge of our range, have an overall understanding of beer and wine making, and be able to talk at length with customers about these;
  • Be the face of Garage Project for various events and initiatives = have fun selling beer!

About you

To be successful in this role:

  • You will be a strong communicator, sociable and easy to get along with - a natural champion to fly our flag;
  • You have extensive sales skills, ideally within FMCG, craft beer, wine or beverage industries;
  • You may already have a wide network in NSW and/or QLD within the food and beverage and retail industries;
  • You will have an extensive background in account management and work experience covering large territories in the field of consumer goods;
  • You’re a go-getter, hard-worker, problem-solver and a machine when it comes to sales;
  • Ideally you will love beer and wine, but a love for making people happy whilst achieving results is a must.
