For Sale: Barossa Valley-Based Brewery & Taproom

Posted March 17, 2023

This posting is more than 1 year old

After seven years spent building the Western Ridge Brewing Collective, brewing a diverse array of well-regarded beers, and creating a unique saloon-style taproom, the founders of the SA operation are putting the business on the market.

They're selling the entire operation, based in the Barossa Valley, with one of the owner-operators committed to continue working in the business for up to five years if required.

FOR SALE: REGIONAL BREWERY & TAPROOM

Barossa Heritage Meets Western Saloon at Western Ridge Brewing Collective

Are you a brewer ready to take your brewing journey to the next level? Maybe you're a venue owner seeking to produce your own in-house beers to get better quality beers and take advantage of the ATO's small brewers excise rebate? Perhaps you've got an established brewery that's seeking a self-funding, low risk R&D operation?

There is a unique opportunity to acquire our established brewery located in the heart of the Barossa Valley and only one hour from Adelaide.

Our brewery has already built a strong local following, with room for growth and even greater success. Our tasting room is unlike any other, with a one-of-a-kind fit-out that merges priceless Barossa heritage items with a western saloon bar atmosphere.

Our proven recipes rank the brewery consistently in the top three SA breweries on Untappd, and our barrel program boasts rare cultures from all over the world already producing ready-to-drink beer. Designed to focus on a large number of small batches, future owners can continue to make new and experimental beers with no restrictions on style or ingredients and limited financial risk while still allowing larger batches for core range production.

This is a fully-operational regional brewery and taproom with 421 square metres of floor space and all the hard work done for you. We have council approvals, excise license, WET registration, and a producers liquor license allowing production of beer, wine and spirits. Products can be sold on the premises, via web or mail order, at local events/markets and via wholesale without additional approvals.

Critical production infrastructure like drains, environmental approvals, cool rooms, a large shed and an attractive cellar door with landscaped gardens is in place. We also have Container Deposit agreements in SA, QLD and NSW, with more than 40 registered products ready for wholesale can or bottle sales.

We're currently operating with one full-time brewer/cellarhand and 0.5 FTE on the bar, we have 40 percent of our production capacity free to grow after maintaining existing demand and taproom sales. Given additional capital investment, the site is ready and has floorspace to introduce in-house canning and increase cellar capacity by up to 400 percent. The tasting room has permission to trade from 9am to 6pm, seven days, with trading until 7pm permitted on Friday.

One of the current owner operators is committed to continue working in the business for up to five years if required, and our current site has an attractively priced 1.5+5+5 year lease. We are also hosting South Australia’s newest home brew supply store adjacent to our bar, which is sure to keep bringing in local brewers thirsty for a pint and deliver lots of co-branded marketing opportunities.

We're seeking expressions of interest. For more details, contact David Henderson on hello@westernridgebrewing.com.au or 0417981944.
