Local Brewing Co finally threw open the doors of their Clifton Hill taproom earlier in the year and have already hosted a Pint of Origin. 

As their community grows, they're looking to take on an assistant venue manager.


JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Venue Manager

Local Brewing Co. has opened up its new home in leafy Clifton Hill and we need your help!

Local Brewing Co. is an independently owned brewing company established in 2019 with an aim to create great tasting beers that drive sustainable social impact. We've been around for a few years now and have the vision to be the most socially and environmentally friendly beer that inspires and drives real impact. For every 4-pack or pint, we give a meal to someone in need. That’s equated to over 220k meals over the journey.  

We have a 75-capacity brewpub Local Brewing Co. Taproom & cafe Greater Good in Clifton Hill and are looking for an experienced Manager to come onboard and assist in the daily operations.

Join the leadership team in this new position to:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the venue in the absence of the venue manager
  • Be a key player in helping drive and monitoring the growth performance 
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of the front of house team
  • Mentor and grow the front of house team
  • Work with the brewery team to plan the tap rotation
  • Work with events team to setup exciting and unique events
  • Ensure a safe workplace is maintained and that health, safety and environmental issues are pro-actively managed according to best practice  
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Presentation, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills 
  • Driven, innovative and outcome focused
  • Enthusiastic, punctual, shows initiative and is self-motivated

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proven success in managing a medium sized venue 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide superior customer service 
  • Proven ability to train and develop staff to deliver a high level of service, to lead and motivate a team, and influence staff 
  • Ability to work with unsupervised in a fast-paced and demanding environment 
  • Well-developed computer skills including events/hospitality booking systems 
  • Valid RSA certificate

Remuneration and benefits:

  • $60,000 package + Super
  • Professional learning opportunities such as Beer Cicerone (Level 1 & 2)

  • Potential of part-time role or 4 day week upon negotiation
