Black Hops Brewing Pty Ltd founded in 2014 on the Gold Coast and has their home base (HQ) in Burleigh. Black Hops has grown to become one of the biggest selling independent craft breweries in QLD and Australia. In March 2019 Black Hops opened a bigger Production Brewery and Taproom in Biggera Waters. Since then Black Hops now has opened a Taproom in East Brisbane and Queensland’s first dedicated barrel-aged beer taproom AWOL in Burleigh Heads.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The QLD State Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales, building strong relationships, and managing key accounts in our backyard QLD. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to maximise sales and distribution, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring our products are effectively positioned within the market. The QLD State Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of QLD based key customers, overseeing sales targets and key performance metrics of our Field sales team, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Black Hops brand.
The QLD State Sales Manager at Black Hops Brewing offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the brewery's success and lead, mentor a passionate team, drive business growth, and shape the Brand’s presence in QLD.
You will be apt in building strong relationships with strategic customers and be able to identify the needs and requirements of key account customers. This position requires an organised, goal-oriented Liquor Industry Professional with great negotiation skills and a solid understanding of Australian Craft Beer industry and industry trends.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage, lead and motivate our QLD Sales Team providing mentorship and driving key performance metrics.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QLD Accounts strategy aligned with the Black Hops overall sales and growth objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major accounts, including retailers, distributors, and hospitality chains.
- Identify and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and initiatives that support key account growth and brand visibility within QLD.
- Negotiate and finalise contracts, pricing agreements, and terms of engagement with key accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both parties.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and proactively implementing corrective actions.
- Provide regular reports and updates to Senior Management on key account performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network, promote the brewery's products, and gather market intelligence.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess their satisfaction, address concerns, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Play an integral part in generating new business that will lead to long lasting relationships
- Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and activities to determine their impact on sales and overall ROI.
- Use data and performance metrics to refine promotional strategies and maximise their impact.
- Create comprehensive budgets that align with the strategic goals of Black Hops Brewing and the individual needs of each key account.
- Conduct range reviews to assess product assortments, recommend additions or adjustments, and ensure alignment with market demands.
- Proficiency in analysing market data, sales trends, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Utilise data-driven insights to develop strategies that optimise sales, distribution, and pricing for key accounts
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in Key Account management and leading Sales Teams within the alcoholic beverage industry, preferably in the craft brewing or spirit's sector.
- Proven record of accomplishment of successfully managing key accounts, driving sales growth, and achieving revenue targets such as; On-Premises and Retail Banner Groups
- Ability to mentor and lead our Field Sales Team driving Key Performance Metrics
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer insights.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Willingness to travel as required.
