Job Description: Assistant Venue Manager
Dainton Beer is looking for an Assistant Venue Manager with a love of hospitality, a passion for great customer service, and rock solid back of house skills to join our Carrum Downs Taphouse team.
Who Are We?
Dainton Beer has been making award-winning and boundary-pushing beers since 2013. From the beginning, Dainton Beer has always been about brewing beers that are exciting, tasty and a little bit different. We treat the hospitality side of the business no differently.
Our production brewery & taphouse opened its doors in 2016 in Carrum Downs, and has been the heart and soul of the craft beer industry in the area ever since, with a focus on serving delicious food and drinks in a fun, lively, welcoming space. The Carrum Downs location hosts weekly live entertainment and an array of seasonal events including vinyl fairs, comedy nights, charity fundraising events, and masterclasses - all allowing us to support local businesses and offer unique experiences for our customers.

Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in hospitality management or supervisory roles
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development
- Organisational and time management skills
- Craft Beer and Cocktail experience preferred but not required
- Comfortable working towards and meeting KPI’s
- Experience with rostering, ordering, managing running costs and maintaining OH&S
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask in fast paced situations and environments
- Able and willing to work weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
- Must hold a valid RSA
The Role:
- Supporting the Venue Manager in the running of the venue
- Implementing policies and procedures
- Running day to day shifts
- On shift staff training and management
- Cash handling
- Cellar management
- Rostering (following direction from Venue Manager)
- FOH ordering (following direction from Venue Manager)
- Managing QR code system
- Engaging with customers & building a rapport with regular clientele
- Creating and implementing seasonal events
