Job Description: Lead Brewer
Are you a passionate and talented brewer ready to take your career to the next level?
Margaret River Beer Co., 2024 Western Australian Champion Brewery at the Indies, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Brewer to join our growing team.
We have a full time Lead Brewer position available in beautiful Margaret River.
As Lead Brewer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional beers and leading our brewing team. Reporting directly to the Head Brewer, you will be responsible for overseeing wort production, cellar work, packaging, and team management. With a focus on quality assurance, safety and efficiency you will remain agile to adapt to challenges that may arise, leaning on your initiative and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years of brewing experience in a similar role
- Current Forklift License
- Relevant brewing certifications or training (IBD Qualifications or equivalent)
- Wort Production
- Cellar duties including CIP
- Operating of a CODI canning line
- Quality control and data recording
- Handling of raw materials
- Physical tasks including moving and lifting heavy objects
- Excellent at problem-solving, uses initiative and supportive team player
- Attention to detail and a passion for craft beer
- Lead and develop a team of three dedicated brewers
- Create and implement weekly work schedules and rosters
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
- Ensure adherence to strict safety protocols
- Provide support to the Head Brewer as required
- Knowledge in Yeast Propagation (desired)
