Job Description: Experienced Brewer (part-time)
At Future Magic Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest quality control standards throughout our beer making process. Due to increased customer demand, we are looking for an experienced brewer to join the FMBC team. Hours are initially part-time and negotiable.
The Role
As a brewer you are integral to our business. Emphasis is on rigorous quality control, meticulous record-keeping, and a clean, safe workplace. The responsibility of overseeing production from start to finish. You will be encouraged to contribute your individual flair for brewing through our taproom series program of unique and creative beers. A flexible, team-player and can-do approach is a must for this role. You will be asked to assist with cellar, venue and business needs as required. The position is based in East Brisbane, with occasional duties off-site as required.
The role includes and is not limited to:
- Execute the day-to-day operations outlined in the Production Schedule.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, in line with manufactures requirements on all brewery equipment.
- Adhere diligently to quality standards and recipe requirements.
- Meticulous attention to cleanliness and following instructions precisely.
- Strive for continuous improvements through the development and implementation of standards and processes.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement of brewery processes and standards to meet our quality goals.
- Festival/weekend work as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- IBD diploma or equivalent brewing qualification (preferred).
- Forklift license (preferred).
- Valid RSA.
- Valid Australian driver’s license.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a production brewery or busy brewpub.
- Possess a deep understanding of the brewing and packaging processes.
- High level troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn new skills and mentor/coach other team members including bar staff and marketing.
- Experience with semi-automated brewhouse control systems.
- Computer literacy preferably with experience using Beer30 and excel.
