Job Description: Production Supervisor – Beverage Canning, Distillery & Co-Packing 

Location: Darra, Queensland, 4076 

Company: Cactus Canning Pty Ltd 

Position Type: Full-Time (38+ hours per week, Monday – Friday)

Role Overview: 

As the Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations at our canning facility, leading a dedicated team to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality in every can. You will be both hands-on and strategic, managing production flow, machinery, and staff, while driving continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and coordinate production teams to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee and operate production machinery, ensuring smooth, efficient operations. 
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet targets. 
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with company standards and SQF regulations. 
  • Train, mentor, and inspire production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. 
  • Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges to minimise downtime. 
  • Maintain accurate production records for reporting and management reviews. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Work with alcohol and ingredients that may contain allergens. 

Qualifications: 

  • A well-groomed appearance and strong hygiene practices. 
  • Experience as a Production Supervisor, or 5+ years in a similar role within a brewery or canning facility. 
  • In-depth knowledge of production machinery and canning processes. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks. 
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • A commitment to safety and quality standards. 
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts if required.

Desirable (but not essential): 

  • Forklift licence 
  • Manual driver’s licence 
  • First Aid/CPR certification 

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Additional technical or supervisory training is advantageous. 
  • While English does not need to be your primary language, for safety reasons, you must be able to read, write, and understand English instructions clearly.
