Two Birds are based in Melbourne's inner west and launched in 2011 as Australia's first female-owned brewery.

Job Description: Finance Manager

Located in Spotswood, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, Two Birds Brewing have been developing sophisticated, approachable beers since 2011. Continuing to grow its presence in both Australia and overseas, Two Birds are looking for a Finance Manager to join a highly collaborative and passionate team. 

Reporting directly to the founders of the business, this is a broad role that will require someone to take ownership of the finance function. Along with overseeing all the nuts and bolts accounting, you will be the go-to person for finance across the entire organisation. You will be working with Brewing and Retail Operations, Sales, Marketing and external partners to help the business run smoothly. 

No one day will be the same! You will mentor and coach an Assistant Accountant whilst being across all month end financial reporting, management reporting and analysis, cash flow management, product costings, budgeting and forecasting along with tax and regulatory compliance. 

The Successful Applicant:

You will have a collaborative and consultative approach. You know finance and accounting inside out and love working with non-finance stakeholders. You do not have any issues wearing different hats and are happy getting hands on into the detail when required, whilst still being able to see the bigger picture, add value and be heavily involved in the strategic direction of the finance function and the broader business. 

A strong applicant will be able to display the following:

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a brewing or FMCG company 
  • CA or CPA qualified with a solid background in commercial accounting 
  • Ability to independently manage the financial operations of a dynamic and growing organisation 
  • High level presentation, reporting and communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite or similar accounting system would be advantageous
  • Advanced Google Sheet /Excel skills
