Hemingway's Brewery in sunny Port Douglas is bringing craft beer to the far north of Queensland. With growing success and a few medals already under their belt, they are looking to add an assistant brewer to the team.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT BREWER - PORT DOUGLAS
Hemingway’s Brewery is a new Microbrewery, bar and restaurant situated in the stunning Reef Marina of Port Douglas. We are passionate about brewing great craft beers for Far North Queensland. Having already achieved 3 bronze medals we only plan to go onward and upward so our Head Brewer requires an assistant for our growing production needs now.
We are after a motivated assistant brewer with superb attention to detail, excellent communication skills, great work ethic and an enthusiasm for craft beer and brewing and perhaps enjoy spinning a yarn or two.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Cleaning of the tanks and brewery
- Milling, brewing, tasting
- Heavy lifting (moving and filling kegs etc)
- Assisting with product sourcing
- Paperwork and form filling
- Developing relationships with our suppliers
- Brewery tours
- Event assistance
- Bar and Front of House duties

- To be physically fit
- To be presentable, personable, professional and punctual
- To have excellent communication skills
- To have the ability to work independently
- To have a strong work ethic
- Beard and/or tatts are optional
- To work flexible hours as brewing dictates
- Experience preferred but attitude is everything
