Porter Liquor Ryde – formerly known as Midway Cellars – has been embracing good beer like never before, adding growlers and a CANimal machine to its impressive packaged line this year. Now they're after someone to help spread the word.

JOB DESCRIPTION: MARKETING & SALES ASSISTANT

Porters Liquor Ryde aka Midway Cellars is looking for a young and energetic individual with a specialty in marketing and a thirst for fine beverages.

We are a dynamic and young team who are passionate about sharing craft beer and high quality wine and spirits with our community. With several industry awards under our belt we are devoted to high quality service and hungry to try out our next ideas.

Our mission is to create a unique experience for our customers, which help them appreciate and learn about specialty beer, wine and spirits. We are well on our way to becoming more than just an alcohol retailer, but we need your help to take it to the next level.

If you are someone who is full of fresh ideas and keen to help us shake it up, then this could be the perfect fit for you! You will have the opportunity to dream up, pitch and execute your own ideas.

This casual position does involve some evening and weekend work. So if you are at Uni, we know too well the hectic nature of your schedule, so we are flexible.

Your tasks will include:

  • managing social media channels
  • developing and conducting in house events
  • working with and supporting Sales with promotional strategies
  • creating marketing and promotional material (Familiarity with Adobe products is handy but not required)
  • occasional customers service & sales
  • stock management and inventory control
  • building & maintaining customer and supplier relationships
  • administrative tasks
  • end to end marketing campaigns including identify market opportunities, generate product ideas and concepts, pitch and execute strategies.
  • following industry and Craft Beer news and locating new products.

You are someone who:

  • has a high attention to detail and ability to think critically
  • has a can do attitude and able to adapt
  • is articulate and has excellent communication skills
  • enjoys being creative and thinking outside of the box
  • knows what style looks like and how to present
  • can meet deadlines and has strong organisational skills
