If you want to join the team, currently the brewery is looking to hire a head brewer and a brewer. Here's what you need to know about the two roles.

Two Birds Brewing is Australia’s first female-owned brewery, and proudly produces balanced, approachable and flavoursome beers that can be found across Australia.

As well as an award-winning lineup of ongoing beers, the Two Birds team now produces more than 20 limited release beers a year.

Our brewery in Spotswood, VIC continues to grow and we’re in search of a Head Brewer and a Brewer, to support our production requirements.


Job Description: Head Brewer

Reporting directly to the Executive Brewer, the role covers both production and administrative tasks, including:

  • Day to day management and rostering of the brewing team;
  • Raw material and packaging forecasting; and
  • Recipe development and costings.

Potential candidates should have:

  • A focus on safe work practices;
  • A quality- and consistency-focused mindset;
  • A strong technical background;
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills; and
  • A demonstrated background in continuous improvement of product and processes.

Experience with the following would be looked upon favourably:

  • Feasibility studies and delivery of capital projects, in time and on budget;
  • Management of maintenance programs; and
  • Production tracking software systems.

A prerequisite for this role is a minimum of 12 months experience managing a commercial brewery, and relevant brewing qualifications.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.


Job Description: Brewer

Reporting to the Head Brewer, this is a hands-on production role covering all aspects of brewery operations, including brewhouse and cellar operations, CIP, kegging, packaging, lab analysis and warehousing.

Potential candidates should have:

  • A focus on safe work practices;
  • A quality- and consistency-focused mindset;
  • A 'can do' attitude and effective time management skills;
  • The ability to think critically and problem solve when issues arise;
  • Be willing to be a part of continuous improvement of product and processes;
  • Be able to work a range of shifts, as the production schedule requires;
  • A passion for beer, brewing and production.

A prerequisite for this role is a minimum of 12 months experience working in a commercial brewery. Relevant brewing qualifications (or current enrolment in such programs), will be looked upon favourably.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
