The Great Australian Beer Guide Is Out

The Crafty Pint's founder has written a second beer book. The Great Australian Beer Guide is available from today (August 1) across Australia. It provides a colourful snapshot of the Australian beer scene as it stands today told through 150 beers and the breweries responsible for them.

It is a follow up of sorts to 150 Great Australian Beers, also published by Hardie Grant in 2014, but features almost twice as many breweries plus extended features on some of the most significant and innovative players in each state.

There is also a history of beer in Australia, thoughts on where the industry is headed, how to move beyond the question "What is craft beer?" and introductions to brewing, beer and food pairing, beer styles and more.

It's available at major retailers and independent bookshops all over Australia and you can also snap up copies direct from many of the breweries that are featured.

As the author concludes:

"It is an attempt to encapsulate the very many wonderful things happening in the Australian beer world today at a time when the ground is shifting like never before. It should act as a reference point of a moment in time and also, I hope, as a springboard from which readers will launch into fresh, flavoursome and enjoyable adventures in beer."
