Updated September 7, 2011 following changes to schedule.

October’s Fed Square Victorian Microbreweries Showcase is set to expand out of the Atrium, although plans to hold a third, late night session on the Thursday evening have been scrapped due to a range of logistical issues for both brewers and the organisers. However, having sold out both evenings at the past couple of events, the organisers have opted to hold a series of short “Meet the Brewers” sessions in the BMW Edge space in Fed Square on Thursday night that anyone who has a ticket for the Showcase can attend for free. It’s hoped these will help ease congestion at an event that has grown rapidly in popularity as the craft beer scene in Victoria has exploded.

“The aim is to offer ticket holders more than the chance to taste the beer and talk to the brewers,” says Roland. “I’d like to see the event continue to evolve and find new ways to educate people about the beer they’re drinking and the beer the brewers are making.”

All being well, The Crafty Pint will be hosting one or two of these sessions so watch this space for details of who’ll be appearing and what we’ll be wanting to find out from them. The final lineup of brewers and brewing companies exhibiting is:
