For the second year running, Ocean Reach Brewing teamed up with fellow Phillip Islanders to raise money to build assistive devices for those in need.

Kinetic Beer & Bubbles raises $38,283.93 for Free 3D Hands
Ocean Reach Brewing, in partnership with the Phillip Island Winery, has successfully raised $38,283.93 for Free 3D Hands. This remarkable achievement will contribute towards the development of their latest groundbreaking assistive device, the Kinetic arm. Free 3D Hands is renowned for its exceptional designs and creations of 3D printed hands and assistive devices for individuals worldwide, provided free of charge to those in need. Additionally, their founder and engineer, Mat Bowtell, shares his designs under an open-source license, enabling others to create and repair their own devices while fostering further innovation.
Ocean Reach Brewing founder and head brewer, Simon Bismire said the incredible support received from the community and beer enthusiasts for their Kinetic beer was truly overwhelming. Extending his thanks to everyone who attended the Kinetic Beer & Bubbles event at the Phillip Island Winery and to those across the country who purchased the Kinetic Hazy IPA, wholeheartedly supporting this noble cause.
"Thanks to the collaboration of sponsors, in-kind sponsors, and supporters, we managed to raise an impressive $38,283.93, surpassing last year's efforts of $22,164.40. Without the invaluable contributions from our industry partners and local supporters this would not have been possible," said Simon.
Mat Bowtell, the visionary behind Free 3D Hands, expressed his admiration for the goodwill and generosity demonstrated by Ocean Reach Brewing, which has served as a great inspiration for the entire team. He emphasised that those who purchased and enjoyed the Kinetic Hazy IPA and attended the Kinetic Beer & Bubbles event are an integral part of their mission to make assistive technology accessible to people worldwide. Mat further expressed his immense gratitude towards Ocean Reach Brewing and the Phillip Island Winery for their kindness and generosity, extending his thanks to the community for their unwavering support of this remarkable initiative.

The mission of creating a Kinetic arm that is easier for individuals to operate and manage their mobility deeply resonated with Ocean Reach Brewing, motivating them to extend their support to Mat and the entire team at Free 3D Hands.
In their determined efforts to raise as much as possible for Free 3D Hands, Ocean Reach Brewing successfully garnered the generous support of industry sponsors who stepped in to assist with the costs involved in the production, packaging, distribution, and promotion of the beer. Furthermore, the fundraiser event held at the esteemed Phillip Island Winery on the 17th of March received an overwhelming amount of support from numerous local businesses on Phillip Island, who graciously donated various items and services for the auctions and raffles that took place on the night. It is worth noting that all profits derived from the sales of the Kinetic Hazy IPA, as well as the endeavours at the Kinetic Beer and Bubbles event, has been wholeheartedly donated to Free 3D Hands.
Ocean Reach Brewing intends to continue its efforts again in 2024, aiming to raise further funds to support individuals in need of free assistive devices.
