Media Release: Batch Brewing Co Unveils Exciting Rebrand and New Tinnie Launch

Batch Brewing Co, a revered name in the world of craft beer, is thrilled to announce a transformative rebrand as it nears its impressive 10-year milestone. Despite nearly a decade of passionate brewing for the Marrickville community, Sydney, and beer enthusiasts across Australia, Batch Brewing Co has never altered its iconic logo – until now.

In a significant development, Batch Brewing Co joined forces with Wayward Brewing Co in November 2022 to establish the Local Drinks Collective. One of the first initiatives of this collective was the revitalisation of Batch's branding and product range. The iconic logo, featuring the character with a keg and a pint, underwent a remarkable makeover, spearheaded by co-founder Andrew Fineran. This collaborative effort, coinciding with the inception of the Local Drinks Collective, presented a unique opportunity to craft something truly extraordinary.

The Collective enlisted the help of Aussie Illustrator and Designer Clint Weaver, founder of Pocket Beagles, for the design. “Clint was the obvious choice for us; not only has he shaped a lot of successful brands in the industry, but he’s also worked with us on our Collabathon and Sourfest event artworks throughout the years,” says Andrew.

“For this brand and packaging refresh, we set out to create something a bit more modern, without losing the heart of the Batch brand,” commented Clint. “The Batch character was central to this, we wanted to inject them with some personality and take them on an adventure across the core range packaging, ensuring it represented the quality of the beer within, and the diversity of the characters who drink Batch beers.”

As part of this exciting transformation, Batch Brewing Co has bestowed names upon its entire core range, each for the beer’s personas. "Pash the Magic Dragon" and "Elsie the Milk Stout" have received refreshed visuals fit for their names, while the "American Pale Ale" and "West Coast IPA" have been reimagined to better resonate with consumers.

This creative process led to the birth of "Trippy Hippy" West Coast IPA, paying tribute to Batch's past offerings like "Voodoo Gold" and "Double Rainbow," which were part of the "Trippy Hippy" series. Andrew Fineran, co-founder, shared his perspective, stating, "This range of Trippy Hippy beers originated from West Coast IPA, our core IPA. It felt fitting to honour our heritage as we step into the future."

The American Pale Ale has not only been given a new name but has also undergone a recipe overhaul. Andrew Fineran elaborated, "American Pale Ale was our very first brew, initially crafted in my backyard and later perfected at the brewery. While I cherish this beer and its significance to Batch, I believed it was time for a recipe refresh." The revamped recipe now boasts a more sessionable 4.8% ABV, a diverse blend of hops, and a new name, "Marrickville Original Pale Ale," commemorating Batch's 10th anniversary.

Batch Brewing Company's core range now includes "Marrickville OG," "Trippy Hippy," "Pash The Magic Dragon," "Elsie the Milk Stout," and "The Hip Hip Hop" sparkling hop water. Andrew further hinted at exciting additions to the core range, stating, "We have a few more releases in the pipeline, so stay tuned for some new, fun offerings from us. We’re always exploring our craft, so make sure you pop down to our Marrickville, Petersham and Darling Square taprooms to try our keg only releases too!”
