Moffat Beach Brewing Respond To Industry "Speculation"

Moffat Beach Brewing have responded to "recent speculation and public interest" in their financial position, confirming their brewing business has not entered administration and continues to trade "unimpeded".

The trophy-winning operation based on the Sunshine Coast said in a statement that they have been restructuring their business interests, have placed another entity, Blackwater Trading Pty Ltd into voluntary administration, but said: "None of our suppliers were monetarily affected by this action."

Their statement was issued a day after Wayward Brewing and their distribution operation Local Drinks Collective went into voluntary administration, the latest small brewing company to do so in the past 18 months.

Media Statement From Moffat Beach Brewing Co

Co-founder and director of Moffat Beach Brewing Co Matt Wilson issues this statement in light of recent speculation and public interest in the financial position of Moffat Beach Brewing Co.

“It has come to our attention that there has been some speculation and public interest in the financial viability of Moffat Beach Brewing Co. This speculation is understandable given the number of breweries that have entered voluntary administration in the past twelve months.

"It has been well publicised that the brewing and hospitality industry has been experiencing extremely challenging trading conditions over the past few years and our group of companies have not been immune to these conditions.

"Moffat Beach Brewing Pty Ltd has not entered voluntary administration and continues to trade unimpeded. However, over the past twelve months co-founders Matt and Sharynne Wilson have been restructuring their business interests and have made significant changes to the organisation and operation of their companies.

"As part of this restructure the decision was made to place Blackwater Trading Pty Ltd into voluntary administration. None of our suppliers were monetarily affected by this action.”
