Banks Brewing certainly don't mind an IPA or two and, just ahead of their eighth birthday, the Seaford brewery have let loose three fresh ones into the world.
First up, Mind The Gap was brewed for Pint of Origin as a collaboration with the festival's home of the UK, Mr West, and Manchester’s much-loved Cloudwater. Naturally, the DDH hazy takes its cues from both brewers' approach to brewing hazy beers while combining Citra with a slice of Australia in Galaxy and Vic Secret. Alight carefully onto the haze train and you'll find a whole load of orange juice, passionfruit and melon layered into one luscious beer.
Roller Skate Dancing sees Banks out on their own to create one of their top styles of the moment, a Cali IPA. It blends an all-American lineup of Citra, Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade while also featuring YCH702, a flowable hop extract from Yakima Chief Hops designed for whirlpool additions. Here you'll find stonefruit by way of peach and nectarine, tangerine, and a slight woody quality that leans into a clean finish and soft bitterness.
Last but certainly not least is the collaboratively cloudy Where Dreams Go To Die. The hazy double IPA is a return for a beer brewed with Mountain Culture that’s continued to be one of their most requested beers. Citra, Riwaka and Sabro take you away to a tropical island where the waters are super thick and flow a pale gold. On top of those tropics are kiwifruit, mandarin and orange in a big hazy that's as dialled-in as any you'll find, making you assume that once it's gone, those requests for a rebrew will return immediately.
