They make a lot of bold beers at Banks Brewing and it's a strategy that's paid dividends in finding them fans. Just last week, members of our beer lover’s club, The Crafty Cabal, were guided through the brewery’s love for hazy and their juicy process by founder Chris Farmer and if you didn't make it, you can check out what you missed here.
Among those beers enjoyed, was Bold Strategy, an oat cream IPA was made with a heavy dose of oats to keep things smooth, along with lactose and Citra Cryo, Talus and the hop blend, Kohia Nelson (a blend from Freestyle Hops which features Motueka, Rakau, NZ Cascade and passionfruit). In other words, there’s a whole lot happening on the fruit front with tropical passionfruit and rockmelon joining nectarine and lime. Although the body is quite slick and there’s some richness at play, there’s also a dryness to the finish to ensure the bold beer's strategy is to bring juicy and lush balance.
