The Captain lager draws on local lore for its name and story, but it’s a modern take on the classics that resides within the tin.
A bright and light character is at its core, where pilsner malt and German noble hops collude to create a beer with a full-flavoured middle and a short and sharp finish. Perle and Tettnanger offer up gentle citrus, earthy spice and just a touch of pine character, all built upon a base beer where specialty malts add soft, bready notes alongside sweet grain wheat biscuits.
Pegged as a beer for the workers, this is a lager destined for knock-off beers and best poured by the pint or ice cold from the esky.
