The Indies is the Independent Brewers Association's annual celebration of the best of the Australian indie beer industry.
It takes place as the culmination of the IBA's BrewCon industry conference, which returns to Melbourne in 2019 on September 4 and 5.
The Indies awards night is being held at Showtime Events, in the city's South Wharf precinct, kicking off at 6.30pm.
As well as the existing awards for best beers and breweries, there are a number of new additions for 2019. They are:
- CHAMPION AUSTRALIAN BREWPUB
- STATE/TERRITORY CHAMPION BREWERIES
- IBA SERVICES TO THE INDUSTRY AWARD
- IBA YOUNG GUN OF THE YEAR
- IBA COMMUNITY INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR
- TRUE INDIE BEER SUPPORTER
