Whether you're in lockdown or not, here's a beer tasting that might well keep you inside on a Saturday.
On at 1pm AEST on October 2, Blackhearts & Sparrows are hosting a live tasting with Brooklyn Brewery's Garrett Oliver. Garrett's contribution to the beer world is hard to narrow down but he's best known for working as brewmaster for Brooklyn Brewery since 1994 and is author of The Brewmaster's Table and was editor of 2011's Oxford Companion to Beer. He's also made appearances at past Good Beer Weeks and as anyone who has ever had the good fortune of attending one of his masterclasses will know, is an eloquent and passionate beer educator.
Garrett will be in conversation with Blackhearts' beer buyer Cherry Murphy to discuss the brewery's springtime-appropriate Palenque. Pronounced pah-leng-ke and aged in Mezcal barrels, the barrel-aged key lime gose aims to whisk you away to a tropical beach.
If you needed even more incentive to join in on the livestream on the day, Blackhearts' will be giving away a bottle of Brooklyn Brewery's Hand & Seal barrel-aged barleywine to three lucky viewers.
