Lace up your walking shoes and make a beeline for Bendigo because the country's favourite roving beer festival is back – officially!
Yes, after finally getting Bendigo On The Hop 2021 over the line in March 2022, the walking festival is making a most welcome return to its winter slot.
It's back at full capacity too, with all the venues and independent breweries you love – and with some pretty exciting additions to the brewery lineup, including some who left May's Australian International Beer Awards clutching the biggest of prizes, as well as long-term festival sponsors Bridge Road Brewers and Holgate Brewhouse.
"But how does it work?" you might ask if you've never been to this festival-with-a-difference before.
Quite simply, armed with a glass and map, you'll spend the day strolling around Bendigo, hitting up the city's best beer spots, which will all be stocked with some of the finest beers from some of Australia's top brewers. Each is charged with bringing a new beer along for the day too ready to be part of the People's Choice vote.
You'll make new friends, drink delicious beer, eat great food and enjoy lively entertainment. And it technically counts as exercise.
The opening night party will be at the Cambrian Hotel on August 26 before the festival proper kicks off at 11am the following day.
We'll reveal the brewery lineup nearer the time, but for now you can not only mark your diary and plan transport or accommodation but also grab tickets: pre-sale opens at 9am on June 8.
