The hop harvest comes but once a year, and following close behind is the inevitable, interesting, irresistible avalanche of fresh hop beers.
If you'd like to have a smell and taste of what some of Victoria's top brewers can cook up when they get their hands on the freshest (and sometimes most experimental) hops in the land, get along to The Mill Brewery on the weekend of April 15-16 for a veritable fresh hop feast.
Along with The Mill's own 'Freshest Haze' wet hop DDH Hazy IPA (the first pour of which is actually on April 6, if you can make it down), they'll be serving up 14 different fresh hop beers from the likes of Blackman's, Braeside, Bridge Road, Bright, Burnley, CoConspirators, Fixation, Gales, Hop Nation, Inner North, Love Shack and Stomping Ground.
Beyond the bar, Dingo Ate My Taco! will be on food duties, and DJs will be doing their thing to provide the necessary ambience.
All that's left is to make sure you take this chance to have a taste of some truly limited edition beers, or else regret your actions for a whole year!
