Get summer started with an almighty bang as the Freo Beerfest returns for 2023.
Taking place from November 17 to 19, the Fremantle Esplanade Park will be utterly awash with another huge showcase of local beer, cider, cocktails, wine, seltzers – including plenty of small batch brews and festival collaborations – and as much food, music, amusement and booze-related education as you could possibly expect to take in over a weekend.
All up, there will be more than 500 different things to try, so comfy shoes and a stretchy waistband might be a good bet.
There'll be loads of live entertainment, activities and games spread across the site, from a comedy stage to roaming performers, beer masterclasses and food-matching sessions (Doughnuts and beer? Cheese and wine? Cocktails and chocolate?), and the famous Beer Olympics. Add in some acrobats and stilt-walkers, a mechanical surfboard, mini golf, beer pong, billiards and trivia, and you won't be short on things to occupy your time. Heck, you can even get a tattoo.
The soundtrack will be similarly nonstop, with session headliners including the Australian Daft Punk tribute show, Discovery, plus pop rockers End Of Fashion, the alt dance/synth of Midnight Juggernauts (DJ set) and indie rockers Great Gable.
