If you're a brewer that wants a glimpse (and perhaps a smell and taste) at the future of hops coming out of New Zealand, Bintani and NZ Hops are teaming up and airfreighting to Australia some freeeeesh 2024 harvest hop cuts to deliver what they're calling an "advanced hands-on sensory experience."
With sessions taking place across the country, it's an opportunity to learn directly from the people with their feet in the dirt and heads in the bines – specifically in this case Bintani's Technical Sales Specialist Sam Bethune.
At these in-person events you'll get to hear about everything important in the hop growing scene across the ditch, from general farm overviews to education about different varietals to the sensory differences between early, mid and late picked hops. There'll also be a chance to indulge in some "rub and sniff" previews, and there'll be a few knock-off beers and a few bites to eat.
If you're a brewer interested in what's coming down the hop pipeline, this is an event you'll want to shift your brewing schedule to be at.
