Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival 2024

Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival 2024

Having made a storming post-Covid return in 2023, the extravaganza that is the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival is back for another round in 2024.

Taking place from July 12 to 14, the Adelaide Showgrounds will be utterly awash with beer, food, music and entertainment to create an event that's set to be as big and boisterous as ever.

The Beer

More than 60 producers from across the country, of all shapes and sizes, will be bringing their best and freshest, meaning there will literally be hundreds, if not thousands, of different beers (and plenty of not-beers) to enjoy across the weekend. Between the festival favourites and those exhibiting for the first time, there'll be something – most likely many things – for everyone.

Given the tough times facing brewers at the smaller end of the Aussie beer industry, this year's edition of the festival is highlighting the plight of indie brewers. To wit, they've teamed up with the Independent Brewers Association (IBA) to add a “Look for the Indie Seal Container”, in which you'll be able to have a chat to indie brewers while enjoying their beers.

The Music

In the more than capable hands of host Henry Wagons, you'll be treated to a massive melange of music acts playing across four stages. The confirmed list is as follows, with more to be added...

  • Friday: Australian rock Collective (feat. members of Powderfinger, Spiderbait, You Am I & Jet) | The Southern River Band | Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Cover Band | The Neptune Power Federation | The Bures Band | Plus ‘The Last Resort’, curated by The Note Magazine
  • Saturday: BAD//DREEMS & Friends Play The Great South Australian Songbook (World Premiere) | Floodlights | C.O.F.F.I.N. | Watty Thompson & His Total Fire Band | UNTAPPED Live Finals | Plus The Last Resort (curated by General Admission Agency)
  • Sunday: Peter Combe & The Newspaper Mama Band | Country Hoedown at the Secret Pickle Saloon

The Food

The organisers have made a number of promises on the food front, which are essentially distilled down to the following; there'll be more BBQ vendors than ever, many of whom will be cooking at the ABBF for the first time; Beer Ambassadors Ryan Davidson and Alana Brabin will be bringing the best chefs and brewers together for masterclasses and interactive/educational experiences; there'll be less queuing for food. What more could you want?

The Entertainment

In addition to the festival's pillars above, they'll have you laughing and smiling all day with live skateboarding and BMX displays, a silent disco, line dancing, the muscular crew from Riot City Wrestling, a BBQ competition, 'Beer Bod' wet t-shirt competitions, pie eating, a market bazaar, masterclasses, tattoos, arcade gaming, and more.

If even a fraction of the above interests you (and we'd wager it should) then all you need to do is pick your day, pick your session, and grab a ticket. More details and FAQs can be found through the link below.
