When it comes to celebrating beer, they tend not to do things by halves at Carwyn Cellars. So when it comes time to observe the world's biggest beer festival there's no chance they'll let it pass by without tapping a special beer or thirty.
For this year's Oktoberfest festivities they've managed to get their hands on a bunch of beers from Klosterbrauerei Andechs – an actual monastic brewery in Bavaria still run by actual monks - and this will be the first time a full range of beers will be tapped in Australia.
But by no means is that the end of it. Indeed, it's just the start as they've also got a whopping selection of German-style beers, either from well-known German breweries or locally made homages from some of Aussie's best – and even a special collaboration of their own, a ‘Rauchbier Märzen’ brewed with the traditionalists at King River Brewing (see full tap list below).
So you can do it right, they'll have 500ml steins available for your drinking pleasure, plus they'll be hosting their first stein holding competition with beer and other prizes up for grabs to those with the sturdiest beer arms. And to keep you sustained the Carwyn kitchen will be serving up German-style grub.
The long tables will be laid out and doors opened at midday, with no reservations – just wander in and take a seat, Oktoberfest-style.
