They've long been behind a good cause at Your Mates Brewing, particularly through their 'Mateship Foundation' which raises cold hard cash for various social and environmental causes; to date the initiative has raised well north of $150,000, which is nothing to sniff at.
The next big thing on their fundraising radar is the return of the annual 'Meats with Mates' fundraiser. Now in its fifth year, with each one a sell-out, the event is being held in conjunction with the LIVIN mental health education program and Veterans Welfare League.
It's happening at the Your Mates BrewPub in Warana and will feature a BBQ feast, plenty of tasty beer, and loads of laughs from comedian Harley Breen. The event will be hosted by Todd Widdicombe from MIX FM’s Drive program, with special guest speakers Casey Lyons from LIVIN and singer-songwriter Nathan Cavaleri.
Proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting the Mateship Foundation, LIVIN, and the Veterans Welfare League, "with a focus on fostering connections, sparking positive conversations, and raising vital funds for mental health initiatives that benefit local Sunshine Coast community groups."
