With so many awesome dark beers coming out of Aussie breweries and into the country from overseas this winter, it's good to see bars and bottleshops getting behind them. We've had a fridge of stouts at Carwyn Cellars and now pretty month a whole month of darkness at The Wheaty. Font of Darkness will see seven of the Adelaide pub's 13 taps turned over to some of the finest dark beers you could wish to sample, plus all manner of fun and games with the beers as August progresses. As [The Wheaty's](/beer/bar/the-wheaty-sa/) Jade says: "We sacrifice seven of our 13 taps to the dark side, pouring varying shades of black across an entire font (and the handpump) and exploring roast in all of its fiendish manifestationsâ?¦ "For the first time, we are also going to 'three way' kegs of Moo Stout, pouring Moo concurrently through the handpump, The Glasshopper and the regular tap. So you'll be able to sample The Velvet Sledgehammer lightly chilled & gently carbonated, retro-fitted and as the brewer intended." The opening tap line-up for The Font of Darkness: 1. Moo Imperial Stout 2010 Vintage Barrel Aged (Regular Tap) ' only the second keg of Vintage EVER to be tapped 2. Moo Imperial Stout 2010 Vintage BA (Handpump) ' World (!) premiere on the Handpump 3. Moo Stout poured through The Glasshopper ' filled, with OJ's 'blessing', with Indonesian Kopi Luwak Weasel Coffee: 'Poo Mooâ? 4. Renaissance Chocolate Oatmeal Stout 5. Lobethal Red Truck Porter 6. Barossa Brewing Co Greenock Dark Ale 7. Feral Karma Citra Black IPA They'll be followed by: Mountain Goat Bigfoot Imperial Stout, Renaissance Elemental Porter, Beard & Brau Black Snout Milk Stout, Little Creatures Foreign Extra Stout, Moo Dark, Croucher Black Patriot Black IPA, Mikkeller Black, Mikkeller Texas Ranger & Mikkeller Jackie Brown with Ní?gne í? kegs tbcâ?¦ On launch night (August 3) you can also meet Dark Lords Alistair from [Lobethal Bierhaus](beer/brewery/lobethal-bierhaus-sa/) and Darryl from Barossa Brewing Co from 6pm.
