After a cracking first event in 2014, Craft Beer Rising returns to Australia to celebrate local beer from local brewers at the best local venues.
The national day in celebration of the amazing things taking place across Australia was instigated by The Crafty Pint last year and saw 100 Risings take place across the country on February 22. They included new brewery launches, hyperlocal tap takeovers, tours, meet the brewer sessions – even the Big Beer Bashes cricket that saw the beer world team picked by The Crafty Pint eke out a victory over the team from The Local Taphouse staff and regulars.
On February 28, 2015, we're going again, inviting brewers, venue operators and beer lovers to come together to share a beer or two in celebration of the craft beer revolution that is sweeping (or can we say "has swept" yet) the country in recent years.
The idea is to keep things simple, with anyone wanting to host a Rising invited to register here.
We've enhanced the site this time around so that you can view Risings state by state on a map to help you plan out your day (we know some people like to get to as many as possible) and will once again be offering prizes for the best Instagram photos.
With a few days to go, we're closing in on the 80 event mark, with NSW leading the way. You can check out what's happening near you here (numbers indicate how many events per state as of 23/2):

Our Craft Beer Rising Manifesto – in other words, some ideas as to how you might mark the day remains the same:
- Head to your nearest brewery and share a beer with the brewer.
- Go to your nearest participating venue pouring all Aussie beer for the day and join in the fun.
- Take a trip down Memory Lane with the first Australian craft beer you ever enjoyed.
- Gift a bottle or glass of your favourite Aussie craft beer to a mate who claims they don't like beer.
- If all your local venues sell crap beer, gift the landlord a bottle of your favourite Aussie craft beer and suggest they get with the program.
