The annual Easter festival that is Blues, Brews & BBQs returns to Murray's for 2016. Always a popular event in Port Stephens over the holiday period, it's a big celebration of all things local and good.
For drinkers, there'll be a couple of new releases in the form of the Chocolate Easter Egg Beer, a Hot Cross Bun Beer and their recently released AppleShack cider. Brewery tours will be happening at 2.15pm daily so you can see how Murray's beer comes together, and maybe take a peek at the hop garden.
Music lovers will be kept happy with tunes from Kenny Jewel and Lamplighters, the former taking the stage on Saturday and the latter on Sunday.
The kitchen will be serving up its usual treats, plus gourmet pizzas and smoky barbecue fare fresh from the woodfired oven and cheap kids meals.
Kids are well catered for, with Easter egg hunt, Easter-themed arts and craft, cupcake decorating, face painting and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
[The kids stuff is happening on Easter Sunday and they're asking for a $5 donation for each child participating in the activities. These proceeds will go directly to a fundraiser for a local family - read more about the cause here.]
So you don't have to drive, they're putting on buses to and from Nelson Bay on Saturday and Sunday (bookings are essential - contact 4982 6411 or visit www.murraysbrewingco.com.au for details).
