Colonial Brewing launched in Margaret River and these days operate a second, larger brewery in Port Melbourne too. It's a space that regularly hosts to events and functions.

Job Description: Events & Functions Manager

We’re looking out for an enthusiastic, customer focused self-starting Events and Functions Manager to join our team in Port Melbourne! We’re looking for someone who can coordinate events at the brewery and off site including functions, sponsor activities, festival activations and everything in between… And of course, at the end of the day, someone who you want to have a beer with.

Role

This hybrid role works across the Brewery front of house reporting to the Venue Manager on function bookings, administration, service on the floor as well as an extension of the National Sales and Marketing team to bring to life brand activations, events and festivals including but not limited to Beer Festivals and Sporting Events.

A successful candidate will be willing to be flexible, a team player and passionate about driving the business forward.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Efficient handling of all enquiries into the department and prompt issuing of quotes and contracts.
  • Liaising with clients in the lead up to, during and following their events.
  • Work alongside the management and kitchen team to ensure a successful event.
  • Ability to assist in other areas of food and beverage within the venue.
  • Coordinate multiple functions and experiences at the same time.
  • Assist with venue administrative duties.
  • Coordinate venue events and experiences.
  • Coordinate offsite activations, including but not limited to Sponsor activations at AFL, Cricket, PGA and NBL Games, music events and festivals and local community orientated events.
  • Ability to coordinate and track event assets and infrastructure.
  • Facilitate stock ordering for offsite events.
  • Assist with rostering and staffing for offsite events (if required).
  • Coordination of sponsor packs and marketing for key events.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and some nights – only applicable for full time candidates.

In this role, you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Current and valid RSA Certificate
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry or event operations
  • The initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Effective numeracy, computer, and written communication skills
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
