Modus Brewing is an award winning, 100% family owned brewery and brew-pub business based in sunny Mona Vale on the Northern Beaches and laid back Merewether in Newcastle. Our beer is now sent all over Australia with our brew-pubs being the heart of our business. The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced venue manager to apply their skills and passion to our brew-pub operations whilst also managing the micro-brewery operations in Mona Vale.

As our Brewery and Venue Manager (Licensee), you will work closely with our production crew (based up at our headquarters in Newcastle), to oversee all aspects of brewing operations. This includes hands-on involvement in brewing processes, managing inventory, maintaining equipment, and ensuring product quality. This role can be tailored to the applicant depending on experience. 

You will be responsible for managing the front of house, ensuring impeccable venue presentation and adherence to high bar procedures standards. You'll lead the recruitment, training, and management of staff, overseeing rostering and fostering a positive team culture through your exemplary leadership and delegation skills. Your role will also entail proficient cash handling, financial understanding, and Excel spreadsheet knowledge to meet budgetary goals and control expenditures. Effective communication and collaboration with the kitchen team and our head office will be essential for seamless teamwork and operational success.

What We're Looking For:

We're searching for someone with more than just experience – we want passion and enthusiasm for next level brew-pub customer experience and the craft of brewing. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in venue management or a related field.
  • Experience in a brewery (preferred) 
  • Genuine interest and knowledge in beer and beverages, with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with brewing operations.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
