It's been quite the year for Brisbane's Green Beacon. Having taken out Champion Small Australian Brewery at last year's AIBAs, this year the team upgraded to the Champion Medium Australian Brewery trophy.

Job Description: Experienced Brewer
We are seeking an experienced brewer for an immediate start, to join the Beacon team at our production brewery in North Brisbane. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside Head Brewer Johann Van der Walt and our small team of dedicated brewers and assistant brewers at the back to back AIBA Champion Brewery.
What you will be doing:
- Day to day brewery duties including wort production, cellaring, cleaning, canning and kegging.
- Performing quality control and maintenance, including warehousing tasks.
- Working closely with the sales and development team to ensure Brewing schedule is in sync with trade demands.
- Represent the company at various events with the opportunity for interstate travel.
What we want from you:
- Three to five years experience in a similar role.
- Forklift license required.
- Great work ethic.
- The ability to lead by example and manage a growing team of brewery assistants and casual staff.
- Flexible work hours with occasional weekend and evening work required.
- Excellent practical knowledge of the brewing process and all associated tasks.
- Good understanding of recipe development and experience with mixed fermentation and barrel aging.
- Previous experience with a Cask Canning Line or similar will be beneficial
- Formal brewing qualification will be highly regarded.
