A New Dawn

A New Dawn

Out with the old. In with the new!

Welcome to the new look Crafty Pint. Nearly seven years after we launched the site and not far off three since we underwent our first major overhaul, we've decided to go the whole hog and rebrand while also introducing some new things, first and foremost Crafty Recommends (of which more below).

The original Crafty logo was inspired by old European beer labels to be in keeping with our ethos of taking an old-fashioned approach to journalism – no paid for news stories, no clickbait or traffic chasing listicles, just stories we believe readers will want to read. That hasn't changed, but we decided to was time to have a bit of fun too.

As we said at the relaunch party at the warehouse that will become Bodriggy Brewing's home, there were a few things driving the move to a new look. But, when it boils down to it, the main driver was a desire to create something we wanted to put on a t-shirt...

As well as introducing the new logo, designed by the wonderful Jessie at Craft Instinct – and which you can watch come to life on the homepage, we'll be having fun with the look of the site, regularly changing the visuals to keep things fresh. That said, the core of what The Crafty Pint is all about remains unchanged: a focus on bringing you as much news and insight as possible in the most informative and entertaining way we can.

Crafty Recommends

The main new feature on the site from today is Crafty Recommends. Conceived by our genius web developer Dan from We Love Code, it is an enhanced map that allows us to place articles, such as our Crafty Crawls, and events on a map as well as listings for the businesses that choose to support what we're doing by taking a spot in our directories.

You can check out Crafty Recommends here. Over time, it will allow us to build an ever more comprehensive guide to what's going on in beer around Australia and prove a handy tool for beer lovers as they travel around the country.

In the coming weeks, we'll be adding a business directory to the site too, enabling beer related businesses – equipment and ingredient suppliers, designers and so on – to showcase themselves alongside the breweries, venues and bottleshops already here. Drop us a line if you'd like to find out more.

For now, we hope you enjoy the new look and features as much as we've enjoyed creating them.
