Just weeks after the CBIA became the Independent Brewers Association, the body has released research showing Australia’s independent beer industry now includes more than 400 breweries, generating $740 million in economic output in one year.
Breweries will be able to hire brewers from overseas more easily after Hawkers successfully secured a 457 visa for one of their brewers. This is the first time brewing has been recognised as a skill suitable for a Temporary Work (Skilled) Visa.
The Craft Beer Industry Association is hoping that this year's annual survey of Australian craft brewers will be the biggest yet, providing data to help them improve and grow the industry. The survey closes on December 16.
