Hop Nation x Mr West Turon Milk Stout

Every so often you hear about a snack that sounds so delicious, you can’t help but be a little sad that you haven’t tried it before. Turon is such a thing, with the Filipino treat featuring banana and jackfruit that’s then wrapped in a thin spring roll, deep fried and then coated in caramel. Sounds pretty good right? What's sounds even better is the fact that Footscray's Kariton Sorbetes has their own gelato flavour that's inspired by that street food.

But we don't need to let that deliciousness finish with an ice cream, with Hop Nation and Mr West having brewed a beer inspired by the gelato for the latter’s birthday. Having never tried a turon (but having spent a lot of time stearing deeply into photos of them), I might not be the best judge of whether they've faithfully recreated this beer but what I can say is that it pours with a real thickness and is filled with flavours of banana, caramel, butterscotch, sweet sesame seeds and comes with a more roasted side of dark chocolate and coffee.
