Hop Nation Nelson Lakes

Hop Nation have taken us on many hoppy journeys in 2023 and as we get close to the end of the year, their latest focus is Nelson Lakes. There, the hops are grown beside a national park amd on a farm that sits some 400 metres above sea level. The region sees summers that are hotter and winters that are colder than the South Island’s more traditional hop growing regions up north, which provides the local growers with unique growing conditions.

Those elements make this beer a sequel to All G, which took Nelson from far further south (in the aptly named Southland) and paired it with Mosaic. Nelson Lakes lisewise partners with the American wunderkind and sits at the same 8.0 percent ABV while the two hops create a combination that’s heavy on stonefruit - apricot and nectarine to be specific - while also bringing grapefruit, orange rind and a hit of dank.
