Aussies have been drinking crisp yellow lagers longer than you or I have been alive. But take a look at the, ahem, "Aussie" lagers coming out of the big commercial breweries, and you’ll find that while they're made on our big island, they’re owned by overseas corporations.
So for the punters who like to drink those lagers, Straddie Brewing decided to make a beer that honours their love of easy-drinking lagers while celebrating their little sand island beside the big island.
Local Lager is a Japanese-style rice lager, and it’s as crisp and refreshing as they come. The addition of rice adds some complexity to the bready taste of Australian barley in the malt bill, while also giving a dry and light finish that leaves you begging for more after each sip. Sorachi Ace hops bring a subtle herbal and lemongrass character, but not enough to scare off anyone who’s just looking for something easy to sink in the sunshine.
Local Lager. It’s a local lager for the locals who love their lager.
