Fans of dessert stouts, it's time to pay some respect to your ancestors as the first ever La Sirène Praline Day has been locked in.
Since blowing away the GABS crowds when first released in 2014, the cult classic choco-hazelnut-vanilla delight of a stout has become an integral part of the now Reservoir based brewery. So, to celebrate its tenth year, they're giving it a party.
Head into Bar La Sirène any time from midday on June 1 and you'll be able to indulge in several different variations of Praline on tap, pair them up with a range of Southern-Euro inspired dishes from the kitchen, have a chat with Costa and the brew crew, and get your hands on the very first of the very limited number of bottled Praline releases, as below:
- Praline Espresso – Praline with coffee from Seven Seeds
- Praline Coconut Crème - Praline with coconut and extra creaminess
- Praline Chilli & Cinnamon - Praline with chilli and cinnamon
- Imperial Praline - A higher-ABV version of Praline, loaded with extra cacao, hazelnuts and vanilla
- Imperial Praline du Framboise - Imperial Praline with raspberries
- Imperial Praline du Kriek - Imperial Praline with cherries
What's more, they're planning to spread the joy further afield, with events at a handful of other Melbourne bars and bottleshops who'll be pouring the original Praline, plus at least one of its newer variants:
- Audacious Monk - Preston
- Boilermaker House - Melbourne CBD
- Carwyn Cellars - Thornbury
- East of Everything - Camberwell
- The Lincoln - Carlton
- The Local Taphouse - St Kilda East
- Mr West - Footscray
Praline Day at Bar La Sirène is free entry and is a non-ticketed event, but you can always do the sensible thing and book a table here.
