When you think about breweries ploughing their own path through the Australian beer landscape, few journeys match that of Tasmania's Two Meter Tall. But amazingly, astoundingly, wonderfully, the wild brewery from the Derwent Valley is set to turn twenty this year.
As part of the celebrations, they're heading to the mainland where the crew at Carwyn Cellars will be letting them take over the joint, tapping twenty different Two Metre Tall beers and showcasing everything the brewery is about.
To wit, Ashley Huntington – who alongside wife Jane runs the operation – will be coming along to host what's likely to be a memorable masterclass, in his own inimitable way highlighting the highs and lows of a life making beer at the bottom of the world and often outside conventional lines.
The masterclass is a separate and private ticketed event that runs from 11am to 2pm, during which you'll get a welcome drink, ten 100ml tasters of Two Metre Tall beers, a fully guided tasting with Ashley, and a snack from the Carwyn kitchen. Tickets are just $65 and can be booked here.
From 2pm, the bar will open to the public and you have at whatever Two Meter Tall beers tickle your fancy.
