Anyone paying just the slightest bit of attention will be aware that the past few years have been tough for small indie brewers, with mere survival from year to year being far from a guaranteed thing. So, each time one of them reaches another birthday milestone it's an occasion worth celebrating.
And it'll be a biggie for the crew at Watts River Brewing as they hit the big "8". To mark the occasion, they're hosting a three day party at the Healesville brewery at which they'll be unveiling a new limited release small batch series, ‘Watts Fresh’, with the launch beer being a Double XPA.
The team will be serving up slow-cooked pulled pork rolls across the weekend, and on the Sunday beer lovers are invited to come and start the day in the right way, with a bacon and egg roll fuelled beer brunch kicking off at 11am.
And over the course of the weekend you'll be able to enjoy loads of live music from top Melbourne and Yarra Valley musicians, with Phisha playing from 5pm Friday (to coincide with the official launch of the DXPA), live music all Saturday courtesy of Louise MacGregor, Dave John, and Hayley Legg, then Evan Cloonan and Vinny Russell will be bringing the good vibes for Sunday brunch.
