Well, it looks like we got a little ahead of ourselves there... Each time we've added a dozen more listings to our brewery, venue and bottleshop directories, we gather the 12 together in one spot in case you missed the individual notifications when they went live (OK, so we like posting country town postcard style montages of them all too).
This time around, however, caught up in the maelstrom of our first Crafty Cabal events, Good Beer Week and Pint of Origin, we missed the dozen mark and have already added 15 since the last roundup. So, without further ado, here's 12 of the latest breweries, bars and bottleshops added to the site, hailing from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Nillumbik Cellars – Diamond Creek, Victoria: This store on the outer fringes of Melbourne is home to hundreds of great beers, even more wines, a cafe and deli, regular beer events and an online retailer.
Surfers Sandbar – Surfers Paradise, Queensland: The craftification of the Gold Coast continues apace. One of a growing number of venues embracing the good stuff is this bar in the heart of Surfers.
The DOG Hotel – Randwick, New South Wales: Having turned the Keg & Brew and Dove & Olive into multi-multi-tapped craft havens, the Good Beer Company has taken on its biggest venue yet, the former Duke of Gloucester in Randwick.
Venom Brewing – Mansfield, Victoria: This brewing company launched by former Moo Brew and Tooborac rep Joel Drysdale has enjoyed a fine start to life with beers brewed out of Hawkers Beer, recently adding a Black IPA to its popular Golden Ale.
Woolly Mammoth Alehouse – Fortitude Valley, Queensland: A vast venue that, via the 23 tap alehouse at its heart, is bringing small brewery beers and beer events to the punters of Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.
The Cambrian Hotel – Bendigo, Victoria – The kind of pub you find with increasing regularity across regional Victoria these days: one that's very much a classic country pub but with the beer and food brought into craftier contemporary times.
Golden Vine Hotel – Bendigo, Victoria – Just like this one, in fact, another old Bendigo pub given a serious makeover by one of the men most responsible for driving the rise of better beer in the city. Brisket so good people try to steal it.
New England Brewing Co – Uralla, New South Wales: The first brewery to operate in its region for more than a century is winning fans well beyond New England for its open fermented and often "hop cannon'd" brews.
Cherry Tree Hotel – Cremorne, Victoria: A real hidden gem of the Melbourne craft beer scene, the Cherry Tree Hotel is where the old crew from Richmond's iconic GB moved. There, they've kept the merry vibe and increased the good beerness.
Fixation Brewing Co – Byron Bay, New South Wales: This serendipitous IPA-only coming together of the country's most successful independent microbrewery, Stone & Wood, and IPA-loving ex-Goat rep Tom Delmont is off to a flier, with demand for its gold medal-winning flagship beer sky high.
Malt Fiction – Adelaide, South Australia: A gypsy brewing operation that wears its heart on its cans, Malt Fiction unites the skills of the brewer behind Birbeck's with those of a wine industry stalwart and the owner of several Adelaide venues.
Fox Hat – Willunga, South Australia: The feisty younger sibling of Vale Brewing hasn't been around long but has already picked up awards and much love for its ballsy beers, now available in cans too.
If you run a brewery, venue or bottleshop with craft beer at its heart and would like to know more about being listed on The Crafty Pint, please email us. You can read about how we operate here.
We will also be adding a fourth section to our directory later in the year to allow other craft beer businesses to showcase themselves to our audience. Watch this space...
