Bad Shepherd Altbier & Lime Pavlova

Tradition is a term that’s used a lot when it comes to craft beer but surely there’s nothing more traditional than these two releases from Bad Shepherd? Good Drop is an altbier that uses an award-winning homebrew recipe from Brett Tyrrell to celebrate his win for the Bayside Brewers’ Oktoberfest competition in 2022. The malty beer is driven by caramel, rich toffee and brioche bread that’s all balanced by the beer’s light-on-its-feet characteristics and dry finish.

The next beer might not impress many German brewers but what’s more traditional than pavlova when the weather warms? Bad Shepherd’s Lime Pavlova is a sour beer made with lactose, vanilla and lime to make for a beer with a slight zing and some zest which sits somewhere between pav and Lime Splice.
