When your most popular beer is soured with yoghurt and flavoured with strawberry and rhubarb, it’s fair to say you’re a pretty crafty brewery.
But Brouhaha aren’t interested in excluding anyone just because they might not want niche flavours. They’ve welcomed a couple of lagers into their core range that are, in their words: “Brewed for the everyday beer drinker in mind (none of that fruity S**t…)”.
So don’t expect a twin to Brouhaha’s other core mid-strength beer, Coastal Mid; Locals Mid Lager is neither hazy nor citrusy. Not only is it not full of fruity hops, but it’s not a bitter Czech pilsner, either – and it contains precisely zero fruit or yoghurt.
This beer is clear, crisp, clean. Drink it cold. Then drink another one.
Don’t get me wrong; Brouhaha have still brought their expertise to the table, making a mid that isn’t watery or boring, and has surprisingly notable body for a 3.5 percent ABV lager. There’s nothing lazy about this beer, except that it tastes better when you’re sitting around doing not much else.
Locals Mid Lager carries a lower price point than Brouhaha’s other beers, and unlike the brewery’s other beers, it’s sold in six-packs and cartons of 24.
Easy on the palate and easy on the wallet.
