IPL is a unique beer for Mitta Mitta Brewing due to the fact they bought the hops featured inside. "Wait," you might say: "Don't most breweries need to buy hops?" Not at Mitta; almost all of theirs are grown in fields behind their brewery and taproom.
In the case of IPL, however, the beers was brewed to showcase fresh hop cones from their mates at Ryefield Hops across the border in New South Wales. Like Mitta, the team there believes in caring for the earth beneath them and uses regenerative growing practices to farm, which has led to the two family-run outfits getting along famously.
Those hops work famously well in a lager too, providing soft citrus and pine plus a floral edge that vanish quickly in a snappy finish.
