Mitta Mitta Brewing's Tim Cabelka is a traditionalist at heart. Not only does he believe keeping things local means using the hops you grow yourself, but he also loves classic European styles that don't often find themselves in the spotlight in beer circles.
Maibock is just such a beer: a stronger, malt-led German lager that could be viewed as the beer equivalent of eating a roast lunch and having a lie-down afterwards. Look out for rich brioche notes and another layer of sweetness that's more akin to candi sugar characters found in a traditional Belgian beer.
With a touch of warmth at play from the booze, if you were to enjoy this with your Sunday lunch, it's safe to say you're unlikely to move far from the couch until Monday.
